Boardwalk, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork City

Marina Park is a new City Park located in the South Docklands area in Cork City. It extends out from Shandon Boat Club out to Blackrock Harbour with an approximate area of 32ha.

Due to our strong reputation and proven track record with similar commercial projects, Hennessy Timber Group was awarded the contract by Sorensen Engineering, Cork, for the supply and fit of this boardwalk.

The boardwalk was comprised of an oak frame with oak piles manufactured off-site in panels, then delivered and fitted.

The benefits of delivering the project in this way include:

  • Minimized time on site
  • Faster completion
  • Reduced disruption and disturbance on site
  • Reduced noise pollution
  • Less waste
  • Greater quality and finish
  • Reduced environmental impact
  • Higher precision and quality

This project was completed in July 2021.
